Baseline Study State of Family Planning Financing in Mozambique
Family planning is an essential component for socio-economic and public health development
in Mozambique, playing a crucial role in improving the quality of life and overall well-being
of the population. The ability to control population growth through effective contraceptive
methods has direct implications for poverty reduction, women's empowerment, and the
strengthening of early childhood education, as smaller families often have more resources to
invest in each child's well-being and education (World Bank, 2021). With a rapidly growing
population and persistent reproductive health challenges, effective financing of family
planning is crucial to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG
3 related to Quality Health and SDG 5 related to Gender Equality (United Nations, 2020).
